About Barton P. Levine

Since 1992, Bart Levine has been the principal member of the Law Offices of Barton P. Levine. Mr. Levine represents individuals and families, as well as clients acting as executors, trustees and guardians.  Mr. Levine specializes in trust and estate planning and administration. The firm’s estate planning services include current and sophisticated estate planning techniques, and emphasize tax planning whenever such planning is needed to minimize the impact of estate taxes on individuals or families. 

Mr. Levine presents free educational seminars to the public throughout the greater New York City metropolitan area. These seminars are intended to educate the public about the importance of proper estate planning. Seminar topics include Basic Estate Planning, Asset Protection, Special Needs Planning, Medicaid Planning, Estate Planning for the GLBT Community, IRA Planning and many others.

Mr. Levine also presents continuing education courses to the professional community.

Experience

The firm’s trust and estate services draws upon Mr. Levine’s broad experience in many other areas of the law, including asset protection, real estate matters, loan modification, bankruptcy, and various commercial matters. Prior to Mr. Levine’s decision to concentrate on trust and estate matters, Mr. Levine represented numerous clients in these other areas of the law. Since trust and estate matters often involve these other areas of the law, the firm’s trust and estate clients have the added benefit of having a firm that has the ability to tackle issues, which require expertise in these other areas of the law.

Mr. Levine has been a member of the New York Bar since 1973. Mr. Levine is also admitted to practice law before the federal courts of the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Mr. Levine is a member of the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys (AAEPA) and the New York City Bar Association.

Education

In 1970, Mr. Levine received a B.S. degree from New York University. At New York University, Mr. Levine was on the Dean’s List. In 1972, Mr. Levine received a J.D. degree from St. John’s University School of Law. Mr. Levine was an Editor of the St. John’s University Law Review.

Personal

Mr. Levine is married, and the father of two daughters. He enjoys traveling, skiing, tennis and golf.
